Award Guidelines

Breed Award Guidelines

  Top Winning Cocker Spaniel
of the Year
The Cocker Spaniel who defeats the greatest number of Cocker Spaniels during the current awards period; points to be credited on a basis of one point for each dog defeated in breed (BOV).
 
  Best of Opposite Sex
to Top Winning Cocker Spaniel
To the dog of opposite sex to the top winning Cocker Spaniel, which wins the greatest number of points during the awards period; points to be credited as in above (Best of Opposite Sex wins are not to be counted.)
 
  High Scoring Obedience
Cocker Spaniel of the Year
To the Cocker Spaniel who earns the highest average qualifying scores in obedience during the current awards period to be computed from said dog's five highest scores, regardless of class level.
 
  Top Winning Junior Showman To the junior member who handles a Cocker Spaniel to the greatest number of points earned while competing in junior showmanship classes at an AKC member or licensed dog show. Points to be awarded as follows:
 
   
  First Place - 4 Points
Second Place - 3 Points
Third Place - 2 Points
Fourth Place - 1 Point
 
Only placings in the AKC Gazette or appropriate proof will be counted.
 
  Top Winning Cocker Spaniel
Owner-Handled
To the member who solely owner-handles their individual dog to the greatest number of points. (Counted same as in Top Winning Dog - BOV's only)

Note: In the case of a tie in the Sire and Dam of the Year Awards, the non-champion get who accumulates the most championship points will determine the winner
 
  Breeder of the Year To the member having bred the greatest number of dogs completing their championship during the awards period.
 

Variety Award Guidelines ( Each Award is Given For Each Variety Submitted )

  Best of Variety Award Awarded to the member owning the individual dog defeating the greatest number of dogs at the Best of Variety level only.
 
  Best of Opposite Sex Award To the member owning the individual dog of the opposite sex to the Best of Variety Award which defeats the greatest number of dogs at the Best of Variety level only.
 
  High-Scoring Obedience Award To the member whose dog earns the highest average qualifying score in obedience to be computed from said dog's five highest scores.
 
  Sire Of The Year Award To the Cocker Spaniel whose get completes the most championship during the awards period. A minimum of two get must complete their championships.*

* Note: In the case of a tie in the Sire of the Year Award, the non-champion get who accumulates the most championship points will determine the winner.
 
  Dam Of The Year Award To the Cocker Spaniel whose get completes the most championships during the awards period. A minum of one get must complete their championship.*

* Note: In the case of a tie in the Dam of the Year Award, the non-champion get who accumulates the most championship points will determine the winner.
 
  Breeder Of The Top-Winning Cocker Spaniel Breeder must also be a CSCOC member
 

** Engraved Name Plate & Certificate Awards **

  Championship Name Plate To the owner of the Cocker Spaniel who completes this title of champion (AM, CAN, MEX, or INTL) during the awards period.
 
  Obedience Championship /
Agility MACH Title Name Plate
To the owner of the Cocker Spaniel who completes his obedience championship (AM, CAN, MEX, or INTL) during the awards period and/or completes a MACH Agility Title.
 
  Obedience, Rally & Agility Titles Certificate To the owner of the Cocker Spaniel who completes his requirement for an obedience and/or agility title(s) during the awards period.
  Tracking Certificate To the owner of the Cocker Spaniel who completes his requirement for a tracking title(s) during the awards period.
 
  Working Dog Certificate To the owner of the Cockers Spaniel who completes his requirement for a working dog title(s) during the awards period.
